Key Responsibilities
Plan and supervise daily lamination activities to achieve production targets.
Allocate manpower and assign work to operators and helpers based on the production plan.
Ensure proper machine setup as per job specifications and approved process parameters.
Monitor adhesive mixing, coating weight, curing conditions, and web tension to ensure product quality.
Coordinate with Planning, Printing, Slitting, QC, Maintenance, and Stores for smooth production flow.
Ensure adherence to SOPs, quality standards, and customer specifications.
Monitor production efficiency, machine utilization, and downtime, and take corrective actions where required.
Minimize material wastage, adhesive consumption, and production losses.
Conduct in-process inspections and ensure all quality records are maintained accurately.
Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed and report machine breakdowns promptly.
Maintain housekeeping standards in line with 5S and GMP practices.
Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements and safe work practices.
Train and guide operators and helpers to improve technical skills and operational efficiency.
Prepare daily production reports, shift handover reports, and performance summaries.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
Technical certification in flexible packaging operations is an added advantage.
Experience
10–15 years of experience in the flexible packaging industry.
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a supervisory or incharge role in the lamination department.
Hands-on experience with solvent-based and solventless lamination processes.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of lamination machines and process parameters.
Understanding of adhesives, curing, coating weight, and bonding performance.
Knowledge of flexible packaging materials such as PET, BOPP, PE, CPP, Foil, and Paper.
Ability to read production orders, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
Familiarity with ERP/MIS systems for production reporting is preferred.
Knowledge of quality systems, GMP, 5S, and workplace safety practices.
