Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate slitting machines according to production schedules and job specifications.
- Verify job cards, customer specifications, roll dimensions, and slitting requirements before starting production.
- Adjust machine settings such as knife positioning, web tension, rewinding tension, speed, and alignment to achieve accurate slit widths.
- Ensure slit rolls meet required quality standards, including width, edge quality, winding tension, roll appearance, and cleanliness.
- Inspect incoming parent rolls for defects before processing and report any abnormalities.
- Monitor machine performance throughout production and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Minimize material wastage during machine setup and production.
- Label, identify, and transfer finished rolls according to production procedures.
- Record production output, downtime, wastage, and machine performance in production logs.
- Perform routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of the slitting machine.
- Replace slitting knives and other consumables safely when required.
- Coordinate with Printing, Lamination, Quality Control, and Dispatch departments for smooth production flow.
- Follow all quality standards, GMP, 5S, and health & safety procedures.
- Report machine breakdowns, quality issues, and production deviations to the Supervisor immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- High School / Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
- Technical certification in Mechanical or Industrial trades is an advantage.
