Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Segregate scrap materials according to company procedures and recycling requirements.
- Transport scrap using trolleys, pallet jacks, or other approved material handling equipment to the designated scrap storage area.
- Assist in weighing, recording, and stacking scrap materials as instructed.
- Keep the scrap yard clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Ensure scrap bins are available, properly labeled, and replaced when full.
- Support production teams by promptly removing scrap to avoid production delays.
- Follow all Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), GMP, and 5S standards at all times.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment damage, or unusual scrap generation to the supervisor.
- Assist during inventory counts of scrap materials when required.
- Perform general cleaning duties in the scrap area and surrounding production areas.
- Carry out any other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate or equivalent preferred.
Experience
- 0–2 years of experience as a General Helper in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the flexible packaging, plastics, printing, or converting industry is preferred but not mandatory. Similar helper roles in manufacturing typically involve material handling, housekeeping, waste segregation, and supporting production operations.
Skills & Competencies
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
Working Conditions
- 12-hour rotational shifts (Day/Night), 6 days per week.
- Exposure to heat, dust, noise, and continuous standing/walking.
- Required to wear company-issued PPE, including safety shoes, gloves, reflective vest, and other protective equipment.
