Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Printing Operator during machine setup, job changeovers, and production runs.
- Load and unload printing cylinders, sleeves, inks, solvents, and raw material rolls.
- Prepare inks as per job specifications and maintain ink viscosity during production.
- Support print registration adjustments and monitor print quality throughout production.
- Conduct routine quality checks for color consistency, registration, and print defects.
- Clean ink pumps, doctor blades, trays, and other machine components after each job.
- Ensure continuous material availability to avoid production downtime.
- Assist in cylinder mounting, demounting, and storage.
- Perform machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance activities.
- Report machine abnormalities, quality issues, and safety concerns to the Operator or Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate production and waste records as required.
- Follow all company safety, GMP, food packaging, and housekeeping standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Requirements
- High School Certificate / ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Printing Technology, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a flexible packaging printing department.
- Experience with Rotogravure or Flexographic printing machines is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, and other flexible packaging substrates.
- Understanding of printing inks, solvents, color matching, and print quality standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
