Job description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintainproduct-wise and customer-wise costingfor flexible packaging products.
- Calculate standard and actual costs coveringraw materials, direct labour, manufacturing overheads, utilities, wastage, and other production costs.
- Prepare costing for products such asprinted films, laminated films, pouches, bags, and other flexible packaging products.
- Analyzematerial consumption, production yield, wastage, scrap, labour, machine hours, and overhead costs.
- Conductactual vs. standard cost variance analysisand identify key reasons for deviations.
- Support the Sales team in preparingproduct quotations and pricingbased on accurate cost calculations and required margins.
- Review and updateBOMs (Bill of Materials), standard costs, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Monitor and analyzeraw material price fluctuationsand their impact on product costs and margins.
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure updated raw material prices are incorporated into costing.
- Work closely with Production and Operations teams to understand manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
- Preparemonthly costing reports, margin analysis, and management reports.
- Assist inannual budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives.
- Monitor manufacturing overheads and identify opportunities forcost reduction and process improvement.
- Analyzeinventory valuation and production-related costsand coordinate with the Finance team for accurate accounting.
- Review production orders and ensure costs are correctly captured in the ERP system.
- Support month-end closing activities related toinventory, production costs, WIP, finished goods, and cost of sales.
- Develop and maintain costing models and MIS reports usingExcel and ERP systems.
- Provide costing insights to management forpricing, profitability, product mix, and business decisions.
- Ensure costing procedures comply with company policies and accounting principles.
- Perform other costing and financial analysis activities as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree inFinance, Accounting, Commerce, Cost Accounting, or a related field.
- CA Inter / CMA / ACCAor equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge ofcost accounting and manufacturing costing principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial modelling.
- Experience working withERP systemsand manufacturing modules.
Experience
- 6-12 years of relevant experience in costing within amanufacturing environment.
- Experience inflexible packaging, plastics, printing, FMCG packaging, or a similar manufacturing industryis highly preferred.
- Strong hands-on experience inproduct costing, BOM costing, variance analysis, inventory costing, and margin analysis.
- UAE experience will be an added advantage.
